Richard Tuttle Weekly Sculpture: Bruno Xue

1.

This is Bruno Xue's week 1 sculpture. I used broken glass pieces and printed with color, Wood stick, form board, and Jute cord. I personally love hanging sculptures and I always wanted to try one. First one looks good.

2.

This is Bruno Xue's week 2 sculpture. I used painted broken glass pieces and Jute cord warped around on end of the broken glass pieces. Then attached then together and added and Jute cord on the back to hang it on the wall.

3.

This is Bruno Xue's week 3 sculpture. I used a piece of wood as the sculpture base. I gigged out a hole and inserted 4 wood sticks into the hole, sealed it hot glue. I warped Jute cord around the very bottom part of the wood sticks and also used it for making a sort of spider web looking thing. Small broken glass pieces are used as well. They are attached to cord and wood sticks. Finally, I painted the wooden base to black and then I let red and black paints dripped on my sculpture.

4.

This is Bruno Xue's week 4 sculpture. I used a strip of wood, cut it into 3 exactly same size wood pieces, then I painted them into black. I coiled up 6 Jute cord roll and glued 2 on a wood piece. One small and one big. Lastly, I smashed a piece glass into tiny pieces and applied them on the Jute cord rolls. I really like the piece.

5.

This is Bruno Xue's week 5 sculpture. I cut wood into 4 triangle shapes and glued them together and made it to a pyramid. I used Jute cord warped around the out line of the pyramid. Glued smashed  glass pieces in the pyramid, dropped some red ink and finally I used hot glue gun make some clean tear-dropping on the bottom.

6.

This is Bruno Xue's week 6 sculpture. I measured and drew dot on the wall, then I put nails on those dots and used Jute cord go around each nail to created these 2 shapes. Chopped wood into 3 same size wood stripes and painted them with 3 different colors. Finally, I used hot glue gun on the back side and attached then on the wall within the rectangle line shape.

7.

This is Bruno Xue's week 7 sculpture. I made this piece when you said you can change the element a little. I made a little plaster ball from my extra plaster for my water gun project. I used my Jute cord warped around the center of the ball and glued it tight. Broken glass pieces were hot glued on both end and hanging tips of the cord.  This piece almost  look like it's made out of crystal.

8.

This is Bruno Xue's week 8 sculpture. I dismembered one of my previous project and created this new one. This time, instead of attached to the wall, they are hanging on the Jute core and broken glasses on the surface of each wood strip.  This could be a series design with the previous piece.
